Children treat Christmas 2008. 240 children were given treats of ice cream, sweets and presents which include material for school

Most of these children do not receive any other presents as their parents are unable to afford presents.

The Association also have a welfare programme, visiting the sick, housebound elderly and give moral and in some cases practical support. We also visit bereaved families to offer support.

Our mission is to enable the children of Smithville community to have a sound educational start in order to compete on an equal level with other children in society.
|

| Support is also offered to single parents in kind where appropriate.

The Association also runs a programme for farmers in the community, most of whom are small farmers.

They are assisted to register with government agencies where they receive training on the use of pesticide and ways in which they can maximize their produce. Registration enables them to receive help and assistance in cases of natural disaster
