Smithville is a rural area in Upper Clarendon which is essentially a sustenance farming community. This community has suffered deprivation for many years due to lack of employment and poverty. However, it is eager to give its children a good start in life which will in turn prepare them better for future opportunities.
The Smithville Early Childhood Institution (PDF)has been poorly housed for over twenty-five years and Smithville Community Association has worked arduously to obtain funding for a new building which has just been erected even though it doesn’t have all the much needed facilities. Despite these challenges, Smithville Community is determined to provide an all round education for the children living here so that each of them will achieve his or her full potential in life.
Due to the enormity of this challenge this community clearly understands how difficult this task is if it continues to rely on its own limited resources. It is for the purpose that the Chair of the Board of Governors and the Principal are appealing to all well wishers to partner with Smithville Community Early Education Institution in helping to meet the needs that face these children every day. With you working with us the chances of providing the education and shaping the destiny of these children will be immensely increased.
God bless you immeasurably as you help to fight poverty and break its cycle in the lives of Smithville’s Children.
